The winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja in Barbaresco and is now led by the fifth generation. Throughout its history, Gaja has been synonymous with quality and innovation. In 1994, the family expanded to Tuscany with the Pieve Santa Restituta estate in Montalcino, producing three renowned Brunello wines: Brunello di Montalcino, Sugarille, and Rennina. In 1996, they established Ca’ Marcanda in Bolgheri, launching wines like Promis, Magari, Camarcanda, and Vistamare.
